Rachel Carew Manaton (1669-1705) was the second wife of Ambrose Manaton (1648-1696) and the daughter of Sir John Carew, 3rd Baronet (1635-1692) by his first wife Sarah Hungerford (d. 1671). Carew was M.P. between 1660 and 1692. Rachel was the second daughter, her elder sister being Jane Carew (1662-1700) from who the current Pole-Carew baronets are descended.

Rachel's younger brother, Sir William Carew, 5th Baronet (c. 1690–1744) was the second son of Sir John Carew, 3rd Baronet and his third wife Mary Morice, daughter of Sir William Morice, 1st Baronet of Werrington, Devon. He succeeded his elder brother in the baronetcy on 24 September 1703, and he is credited with the construction of Antony House.

A portrait of Rachel painted by Mary Beale can be seen on display at Antony House today. It is said that the portrait so impressed Daphne du Maurier whilst at Antony House that it formed an inspiration for her novel My Cousin Rachel

Rachel is remembered in a monument found in the parish church at Antony. The inscription records that the monument is in memory of Sir John Carew, of Antony, Bart., Sir Richard Carew his son, and Rachel his daughter, wife of Ambrose Manaton of Kilworthy. Sir John Carew buried 6th August, 1692; Sir Richard Carew buried 18th October, 1703; Rachel Manaton buried 12th February, 1705.
